American Idol down to 'Sweet 16'

American Idol results shows are always like 75% time-filler and 25% sending people home, tonight was no different. Tonight opened with an over dramatic, totally pointless clip montage followed by a excruciating group performance of the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling", which at least provided a few laughs, if not anything else.

The boys were the first up tonight with Tim Urban dodging yet another bullet in Superman fashion. The only thing keeping him in this competition is tween girls and his abs, and maybe Vote for the Worst. Luckily there were at least 3 other guys who were worthy of going home this week, so it is okay to delay the inevitable with Tim until next week. The not so lucky guys that didn't survive the night were John Park and Jermaine Sellers, thank you America. I haven't liked Jermaine ever, he was over-confident, annoying, and needed to be brought back down to Earth. John was alright at his audition but hasn't wowed me since then, it was his time to go.

After a bland performance from my least favorite contestant of last year, Danny Gokey, the girls had their fates dealt to them. Michelle Delamor was sent packing first. I kind of felt sorry for Michelle, how could she not know that everyone hates Creed? She wasn't that bad, and there were more deserving of the walk of shame, but I feel even if she made it top top 12 I don't think she would have made it past the top 8. Next up, Haeley Vaughn and Lacey Brown were brought center stage to both be told they were going home this week and they would never be allowed to sing again. If only. In reality, just Haeley was sent home, another right choice by America! Lacey better pack her bags for next week though. I hate how the producers make the losers sing before they leave, I mean its just not a very good idea. Why would the contestants want to sing the song that got them sent home before they leave? And why would America want to hear it? At the end of the show when Haeley was forced to re-sing "The Climb" it was like the slaughter of the lambs, I just turned off my TV so I hope I didn't miss anything.

Anyways, are you happy with who got sent home? I am very happy with the results, America got 3/4 right this week, hopefully Tim and Lacey meet their makers next week. Leave comments below~
